What is a Podcast?
"Podcast" comes from two words: "iPod" and "Broadcast." In short, subscribers get audio and video files delivered automatically to their computers using Apple's iTunes or similar podcasting software. Users who own iPods or similar audio listening devices can download the files to their portable devices and listen to messages at their convenience.

Get started with podcasting
You do not have to own an iPod or similar device to subscribe to podcasts. All you need is a computer, iTunes or similar software, and an Internet connection (fast connection is preferred).

Steps to subscribe to podcasts:

Get itunes (itunes is pretty simple but you might have your favorite. It doesn't matter)
