Americans spend hundreds of dollars each month to stay connected. We have virtual
community groups online, text messaging at our fingertips and pocket devices that
can call, text, and surf the net from anywhere. Oh, and don't forget you can stay
connected through e-mail, your home phone and an old fashion letter.
With
so many ways to connect with one another, do you ever still feel disconnected?
With all the ways to stay in touch, how is that we still feel out of touch? How
can I say this? Is it true that we have a connection problem?
Well
consider the number of marriages that fall apart eachyear. Could that be a connection
problem? The TV Networks seem to agree because I see them running commercials
encouraging parents to talk to their teens. It seems that most TV shows and movies
all show relationships that failing or seem to miss the connection. But bad connections
are not just limited to the secular. Many spiritual people, including their churches,
fail to make the connection with one another.
Is
there something wrong with how we are connecting with one another that might be
generating a lot of stress? It can't be the lack of options, maybe it's a lack
of something all together different. What does the Bible say about How We Connect
with one another?
An
exciting study is ahead at Odessa Bible Church that we want to invite you to attend.
Whether your single, married, divorced or still in high school, there will be
something for you as we look at all our relationships and how We Connect.
Beginning
Sunday morning, September 7th-21st, we will begin with How We Connect as parents
with our children. Three different pastors will discuss different ways parents
can connect with their children emotionally, uniquely and spiritually.
September
28th we'll begin discussing How We Connect with the opposite sex. We'll
look at what the Bible says about being single, married, divorced and remarried.
Odds are you are one of those four in your relationships so lets see how the Bible
says we should live.
It
is going to be an exciting study and we invite you to be a part. God's desire
is for you to connect with Him through Jesus Christ and then Connect with each
one another. We pray that we can help you on both connecting points as we seek
to bring Him glory in all things. We'll see you here!
