What is a Bible Church?
A Bible church is basically a group of people committed to learning the truths of scripture so that our souls might be transformed into the image of His Son. We want to be a group of believers who understand doctrine, know error when we see it and are able to graciously and with love direct our children and friends in the way of the truth.

Our ministries focus on this in every way possible. From the pulpit we hear sermons that are text driven usually by studying a book or an aspect of doctrine. In our Sunday school classes, the Bible takes center stage as our basic curriculum. Each ministry is driven with a passion for discovering the truths of Scripture and how they apply to our lives. You can visit the "Listen In" page for a sample of some of the sermon series that we've journeyed through.

This makes your experience at Odessa Bible church unique. God, revealed through Scripture, is at the center of our faith and practice. The Spirit uses the teaching of His Word to draw men to the Father. It is our prayer that He finds Odessa Bible Church a place where His word is taught, embraced and applied.

What denomination is OBC?
Odessa Bible Church is not attached to any particular denomination. However, many of our members come from several different denominational backgrounds. On any given Sunday, you'll find people who grew up in Baptist, Methodist and Catholic homes and many more who grew up with no church background at all.
What drew most of these to OBC wasn't the denomination found in the name, but a deep desire to understand the scriptures and how they applied to everyday life. Our closest affiliation would be to Dallas Theological Seminary where each of our pastors has been trained for ministry.

What Ministries are offered?
- A vibrant and growing AWANA program anchors our Children's Ministry. This program focuses it's energy on helping boys and girls memorize scripture while having a great time. On Sunday mornings, children have wonderful Sunday school classes followed by Children's church.
- Our Youth Group is on the move going to Ft. Worth for a Bible Conference, Arlington for Six Flags, the Sand Hills for a camp out and many other things. Each Thursday night they gather for Bible Study as well as on Sunday morning.
- The Young Adult ministry is kicking off in August 2004 with a new class on Sunday morning and involvement in a Sunday evening Bible study reaching OC and UTPB.
- LifeLine Groups are available to others who are searching for topical studies and closer relationships. Popular studies from Beth Moore, Henry Blackaby, Tommy Nelson, Crown Financial and others are all readily used to help us grow closer to Christ.
